EIG Biomedical · device-led combination products

Put the drug where the disease was.

Surgery is the one moment a tumour bed, an irradiated mucosa or an open wound is physically reachable. EIG builds bioresorbable implants that carry therapy to that exact site, release it over the weeks that decide the outcome, and then disappear. No removal procedure. No systemic dose to tolerate.

The problem

A systemic drug goes everywhere. The disease is in one place.

After a cancer operation, the cells that cause recurrence sit in a known location: the resection bed the surgeon has just closed. Reaching them means dosing the whole patient for months and accepting every toxicity that comes with it.

The same geometry problem runs through radiation oncology and wound care. The anterior rectal wall takes the dose during prostate radiotherapy. A contaminated wound needs cover at the wound, not in the bloodstream. In each case the target is small, fixed, and briefly accessible.

A bioresorbable implant placed at that site turns a systemic therapy into a local one — and the implant carrying it can do mechanical work at the same time.

The approach

Defend. Deliver. Disappear.

Every product does all three. The polymer body does mechanical work at the site while it releases its payload, and the schedule for both is engineered into the material before the device is ever placed.

01 · Defend Temporary mechanical work

Filling a cavity, lining a mucosa, covering a defect, holding a lumen. Real device function, independent of any payload.

02 · Deliver Local pharmacology

Therapy released into the tissue that needs it, at local concentrations systemic dosing cannot reach and exposures it cannot avoid.

03 · Disappear Scheduled bioresorption

Hydrolysis to metabolites the body already clears. Nothing to retrieve, explant or image around at follow-up.

One platform

Proven polymer chemistry, extended into drug delivery.

EIG builds on bioresorbable polymer families with decades of clinical history in surgery — as sutures, screws and scaffolds. The device architecture, materials qualification and manufacturing route are established engineering; what changes in an EIG product is the payload and the indication.
